How Live collects, uses and protects your information.

Last updated: July 2026

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly — your name, email address, organization details, and the stream configuration you create (stream titles, ingest settings, client and portal names) — plus operational information generated as your streams run (viewer counts, bitrate, latency, connection and server health metrics) and standard usage information (log data, IP addresses).

How we use it

  • To deliver the service: accepting ingest, replicating streams to viewing servers, and serving playback to your viewers.
  • To provide monitoring and accountability: real-time metrics, health dashboards, and access logs for every portal.
  • To operate accounts, send service notifications, and respond to support requests.
  • To monitor platform health, protect access, and prevent abuse.

Access & authentication

Admin and client portals are protected with time-based one-time passwords (TOTP). Access to a stream is granted per client and can be revoked at any time, which immediately ends active viewing sessions for that scope. Authentication events are logged.

Data security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Stream keys and portal credentials are stored hashed or encrypted at rest, viewing servers authenticate with individually scoped credentials, and access between components is mutually authenticated.

Data retention & export

Operational metrics are retained according to your account's retention settings. You can export your account data at any time from the dashboard. When an account is deleted, its data is purged after a 30-day grace period.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers required to run the service (hosting, viewing-server networks, email delivery), each bound to process it solely on our behalf.
